7. The Prizes

There are two cash prizes of €40,000.00 (forty thousand euros) each, which the winner may only use towards payment of the purchase price in the case of the direct, immediate purchase of a residential property in Belgium from Matexi, for which the notarial deed must be or must have been executed between 1 January 2025 (00.01 a.m.) and 31 December 2030 (23.59 p.m.).
This property in Belgium must, on the date of its final completion, be used by the winner either as their main place of residence or as an investment property in the winner’s name.
The cash prizes may not be used for any other purpose and may not be exchanged through any channel whatsoever, such as for the purchase of building land or the acquisition of a property through hire purchase or any other legal arrangement.
The prize is of a personal nature for the winner and may only be transferred by the winner to a first-degree blood relative, the winner’s spouse or the winner’s legally cohabiting partner. Upon transfer, the cash prize may be used exclusively for the payment of the purchase price in the context of a direct and immediate purchase of a home in Belgium from Matexi, for which the notarial deed must be executed between 1 December 2025 (00:01) and 31 December 2030 (23:59).

The cash prizes are limited to the amount of €40,000.00 (forty thousand euros) each, all taxes included, without reducing the official purchase price of the property. All taxes, duties and other charges, however named and applicable to the purchase of the property, shall remain entirely at the winner’s expense.
The prize will effectively be awarded by deducting the amount from the outstanding balance on the invoice issued at the time of provisional completion. This amount will, up to a maximum of €40,000, be considered as ‘paid’.
If provisional completion has already taken place before the prize is awarded, an amount of €40,000 will be transferred to the bank account number provided by the winner.
The winner is solely responsible and liable for the payment of all taxes, duties and other charges which may apply in connection with the winning of this prize. Fiscal consequences arising from the awarding, receipt, use or permitted transfer of the prize (including but not limited to any gift taxes payable) shall never be borne by Matexi. The winner acknowledges that Matexi must comply with any legally required tax reporting obligations.
Upon awarding of the prize, the winner must provide proof of identity, which will be cross-checked against the personal and contact details provided at the time of participation in the Competition.
